MT8365 (Genio 350)

The MT8365 is a highly integrated solution for connected multimedia systems. Currently most of hardware features are supported by IoT Yocto, while others are only supported by MediaTek proprietary software. Please refer to the functional block diagram below for the hardware features that IoT Yocto supports.

Supported Functional Blocks

For an overview of hardware capabilities of MT8365, please visit IoT Developer Home page.

At current release, IoT Yocto supports the following MT8365 device features:

  • Quad-core Arm® Cortex®-A53 64-bit processor

  • Arm Mali™-G52 MC1 3D Graphics Accelerator (GPU)

  • AI Processor Unit (APU) Cadence® Tensilica® VP6 processor

  • Dual MIPI® Camera Serial Interface (CSI)

  • Dual display support with MIPI DSI and DPI

  • Rich audio interfaces to support various microphones and speakers configurations

  • 10/100 Ethernet MAC with RMII

  • Support Wi-Fi connectivity through external MT7663 SDIO module

Important

IoT Yocto only provide propritary bluedroid stacks on MT7663.

Unsupported Function and Features

The following MT8365 device features are not available on IoT Yocto:

  • Image Signal Processor (ISP)

  • Face Detection 5.0 (FD)

  • Warp Engine (WPE)

  • Built-In Wi-Fi®/Bluetooth®, GNSS, and FM Radio connectivity

  • Cadence HiFi 4 Audio Engine DSP

  • Display support with LVDS

  • JPEG Encoder

  • Time Division Multiplexed Interface (TDM)

  • Sony/Philips Digital Interface (S/PDIF)

  • MII Ethernet MAC

  • NAND flash interface

Note

IoT Yocto does not support the built-in wireless connectivity features of MT8365 and the companion chip MT6631. Instead, an external MT7663 SDIO wireless module is used on Genio 350-EVK to provide wireless connectivity.
