Does Ubuntu on Genio support Ubuntu Core?
Currently, there are no reference images of Ubuntu Core for Genio EVKs. Board vendors and solution vendors may contact Canonical to enable Ubuntu Core support and image customization for products using the MediaTek Genio platform.
Does Ubuntu Server for ARM work on Genio EVK?
Currently, no. The Ubuntu Server for ARM image is not bootable on Genio EVKs at the moment.
There are two reasons for this:
The boot firmware of Genio EVK (350/510/700/1200) does not support boot from USB storage, SD card, or Ethernet at the moment.
The generic Ubuntu for ARM kernel lacks the driver and configuration for Genio SoC at the moment.
I want to customize the Ubuntu OS Image. Can MediaTek do that for me?
Ubuntu is an intellectual property owned and maintained by Canonical.
