.. include:: /keyword.rst ========================== Boot from External Storage ========================== In MediaTek's IoT Yocto platforms, the Boot ROM (BROM) **dose not** natively support booting from removable storage types such as USB flash disk, SD Card, or Ethernet. BROM supports only main storage like eMMC or UFS, depends on the features of SOC. However, it is still possible to boot Linux from these storage types by leveraging the common features provided by U-Boot (BL33). Platform Variability -------------------- The capability of booting from removable storage can vary significantly from one platform to another. Different MediaTek Genio IOT platforms may have different levels of support for various storage types. As MediaTek develops new platforms and updates existing ones, it will gradually continue to enhance support for additional storage types. Please refer to the following pages for information of IoT Yocto platforms support for booting from other storage. .. csv-table:: :file: /_asset/tables/external-boot-platform-hw-device.csv :width: 100% :header-rows: 1 .. toctree:: :titlesonly: TFTP Boot SD Card Boot USB Disk Boot
